5 DUIs, 1 After Crash At Route 24 On-Ramp: Portsmouth Police Log

PORTSMOUTH, RI — The following people were arrested by Portsmouth police between Feb. 24 and March 4.

Feb. 24

12:47 a.m. — Gregory Clayton Edward Aiello, 30, of Lakeville, Massachusetts, was charged with DUI liquor (first offense). Police said the arrest came after a traffic violation on Route 24 northbound at the Sakonnet Bridge.

6:11 p.m. — Patrick Reynolds, 62, of Middletown, was charged with DUI drugs/alcohol (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police said the arrest happened after a traffic violation on Burma Road.

9:07 p.m. — Tracy Joelle Hamilton, 52, of Tiverton, was charged with DUI drugs/alcohol (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police said the arrest stemmed from a traffic violation on East Main Road.

Feb. 27

6:31 p.m. — Alonzoe Marquise Butler, 33, of Pawtucket, was arrested on a warrant. Police said the arrest happened after a traffic violation on Clock Tower Square.

Feb. 28

2:27 a.m. — Norah Pursell, 52, of Newport, was charged with DUI drugs/alcohol (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police said the arrest happened on East Main Road.

7:53 a.m. — Norah Pursell, 52, of Newport, was charged with domestic-simple assault/battery.

March 2

7:42 p.m. — Kevin Bruce Arnold, 45, was charged with a bench warrant out of Rhode Island Superior Court.

March 3

Luis Roberto Lopez Gomez, 32, of Newport, was charged with operating under a foreign license during a suspension or revocation. Police said the arrest happened after a traffic violation on East Main Road at Lepes Road.

March 4

12:05 a.m. — Eric James Rocha, 33, of Fall River, Massachusetts, was charged with DUI drugs/alcohol (first offense), refusal to submit to a chemical test, simple assault or battery, resisting legal or illegal arrest, obstructing an officer in the execution of duty and disorderly conduct. Police said the arrest happened after a crash on West Main Road at the Route 24 on-ramp.

7:50 p.m. — Samuel Perez Jr., 51, of Portsmouth, was charged with reckless driving. Police said the arrest happened after a traffic violation on East Main Road at Union Street.
