BANKNEWPORT ANNOUNCES CREATION OF BUSINESS BANKING GROUP

BankNewport has a long, proud history of helping the Rhode Island small business community to grow and prosper, knowing the results will create jobs, build strong communities, and benefit the economic foundation of our State.

With an elevated commitment to bring the Bank and its services directly to the door of small businesses, BankNewport President and CEO, Sandra J. Pattie recently announced the creation of its Business Banking Group, providing new opportunities and specialized attention to enhance the business banking experience.

Authorized lending specialists who understand the unique challenges and financial needs of small business will comprise the group.  They will bring BankNewport to the door of each business, learning its short and long-term goals in order to recommend the best banking services, whether deposit accounts, lines of credit, commercial real estate mortgages, term and equipment loans, or cash management products.

Sara M. Hiebner, vice president and manager of the Business Banking Group.  Hiebner joined BankNewport in 2008, most recently serving as vice president, business development officer in the Commercial Lending Group.  She is responsible for business banking loan origination and business development throughout Rhode Island.

Hiebner earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston.  She is a member of the Newport County Chapter of the NAACP and is a member of the board of directors for Child & Family Services, where she also serves as co-chair of their annual Taste of Newport fundraiser.  Sara has two sons and resides in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Timothy P. Maney, vice president, business development officer, Business Banking Group.  Maney joins BankNewport from Connecticut River Bank, headquartered in Charlestown, New Hampshire, where he served as regional vice president, commercial business development serving the Keene geographic area.  He will be responsible for business banking loan origination and business development located in Bristol County and southeastern Massachusetts.

Maney earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.  Tim and his wife, Elaine, reside in Newport, Rhode Island.

Caitlyn C. Welsh, Business Banking Group assistant.  Welsh joined BankNewport in 2011, most recently serving as administrative assistant in Commercial Lending.  She will be responsible for processing of business loan origination and servicing of business banking customers.   

Welsh earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Rhode Island.  Caitlyn is a resident of Narragansett, Rhode Island.
