Another Coyote With Trap on its Leg Spotted in Portsmouth
Portsmouth police are asking residents to be on the lookout for a coyote walking with a leg hold trap on its paw.

PORTSMOUTH, RI— Another coyote injured by a trap has been spotted, this time in Portsmouth. The animal was seen on Wapping Road near Sandy Point Avenue. The State Department of Environmental Management shot and killed another similarly injured coyote in Middletown. The animal's leg was too badly damaged to save, and it could not hunt, DEM said. These traps are illegal, and the DEM is seeking the person who is setting them.
