Arrest Made in Botched ATM Bank Robbery
The following arrest information was supplied by the Portsmouth Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Police say tips from the public led to the arrest of a suspect in the attempted robbery of a ATM.Â
, 45, of 178 Cannonchet Drive, Portsmouth, was arrested Monday at 9:15 a.m. for allegedly attempting to  last January.Â
On Jan. 28, a man entered the enclosed, ATM lobby at the front of the bank just before midnight. He then attempted to break into the cash machine by using a crowbar, causing extensive damage to the ATM.Â

When this attempt failed, the suspect fled the area, but not before he was photographed on the bank's video surveillance system.Â
Police distributed copies of the photos and asked for help in identifying the suspect.Â

"We did receive numerous leads, identifying Ajemian," said Lt. Brian Peters of the .Â
Ajemian was arrested on an affidavit arrest warrant at his home Monday and transported to court. He was charged with larceny and vandalism.Â
