Barrington Woman Charged with DUI after Crashing into Police Cruiser
Police said the woman was driving in the wrong lane and speeding before she crashed into a cruiser on a work detail.

A 24-year-old Barrington woman was charged with driving under the influence after she allegedly crashed into a police cruiser on a construction detail on Bristol Ferry Road near the Mount Hope Bridge in Portsmouth early Saturday morning.
Portsmouth Police said Bianca L. Jannetta, 24, of 37 Columbus Ave., Barrington, was seen driving erratically on Turnpike Avenue at around 2:24 a.m.
She was speeding and driving in the wrong lane, police said, and officers were dispatched to check on her condition.

Moments later, dispatchers were told that the erratic vehicle had struck a cruiser on the bridge.
Police said an officer, who was not identified, was in the cruiser when the crash happened and suffered injuries.

The officer was transported to Newport Hospital for treatment and was released later this morning.
Both cars were heavily damaged and towed from the scene.
Janetta was held overnight and along with the DUI charge, she was cited for refusing a chemical test.
She will be arrainged later this morning by a justive of the peace.
The accident remains under investigation by the Rhode Island State Police.
