Body Recovered from Potters Cove was Tiverton Woman
The state Department of Environmental Management identified the victim as a 73-year-old resident of Tiverton.
The state Department of Environmental Management identified the woman who was reporting missing from a boat out of Bristol and later found in Potters cove on Prudence Island as 73-year-old Barbara E. Mills of Tiverton.
The DEM is handling the investigation of Mills’ death.
Mills went missing from the 42-foot boat while it was moored at the mouth of Potters Cove, said Portsmouth Fire Department Dep. Chief Michael P. O’Brien.

O’Brien said the department was notified by Portsmouth police shortly after 8 a.m. that the woman was missing.
Crews from Portsmouth, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Prudence Island Volunteer Fire Department and fire departments from Bristol, Cranston, Warren, Warwick and the DEM joined the search.

The incident was managed from the Portsmouth Emergency Operations Center; under operations commander, Captain Steven Lynch.
The victim was located along the shore of Potter Cove by a civilian vessel assisting in the search. The civilian vessel then hailed rescuers.
