And the winner is....

Thanks to everyone who submitted their ideas for a Portsmouth slogan to use on our 375th Celebration documents. All of the over 30 slogans that you submitted were viewed and considered by the 375th Steering Committee members at yesterday's meeting.  While all of the slogans were interesting and had merit, the slogan or tag-line that we all thought best captures the positive essence of our Town's character is: "Proud Heritage, Bright Future" submitted by Portsmouth Park resident Gary Gump. Congratulations Gary! Your slogan will be used on documents and signs as we continue to publicize our community celebration of Portsmouth's founding in 1638.

The 375th Steering Committee will continue to work on coordinating and supporting events to be scheduled throughout 2013 but we need the involvement of additional Portsmouth residents to work on specific events. Please join us at our next meeting on 20 September at 5 PM in the Portsmouth Free Library to sign up for specific event opportunities. If you are a member of a Town Committee or other organization, please consider creating your own event next year. The Steering Committee can help with scheduling, publicity and generally supporting your event. We will soon begin a fund-raising campaign to generate funds to help support events over the year.
