Common Fence Music Presents Singer, Songwriter Antje Duvekot

Antje Duvekot, acclaimed young singer/songwriter returning to Common Fence Music for her second appearance. Donj't forget your picnic basket!

Common Fence Music presents singer-songwriter, Antje Duvekot on Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. The performance will take place at the , 933 Anthony Road, Portsmouth.

Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 at the door and are available at the CFM Ticket Desk from 3 to 5 p.m. on concert days; through Ticket Web anytime and at the door until sold out.

Antje is a young singer/songwriter who emigrated from Germany as a teenager and has since solidified her reputation as one of the folk worlds top singer-songwriters.  Her debut studio release was Big Dream Boulevard. By her second CD release the Near Demise of the Highwire Dancer she had attracted the attention of the acclaimed singer-songwriter Richard Shindell who produced the album. Also featured on the album are noted folk luminaries John Gorka and Lucy Kaplancky. It was voted #1 album of the year 2009 by WUMB 91.9 fm in Boston.
Antje has won some of the top songwriting awards including the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, the prestigious  Kerrville "Best New Folk Award" and  the Boston Music Award for "Outstanding Folk Act.”

Antje has extensive touring experience, criss-crossing the US and Europe several times. She is a compelling live performer and has been invited to play some of the top festivals including The Newport Folk Festival as well as the Mountain Stage, Philadelphia and Kerrville Festivals. Internationally, she's headlined the The Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland and the Tonder Festival in Denmark. In December of 2007, The Bank of America featured Antje's song "Merry Go Round" in a national TV advertising campaign seen by millions, including a Super Bowl audience.

The Common Fence Music venue is a quiet, listening room with a no-smoking policy. Homemade refreshments and soft-drinks are available. The hall is ramp accessible. Common Fence Music is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.
