Enjoy a Traditional Clam Boil with Portsmouth Democrats This Sunday
Portsmouth Democrats Clamboil will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the PA Club. Good food, auction bargains, 50/50 raffle and time to chat with local and state political leaders.
The Portsmouth Democratic Town Committee’s annual Clam Boil is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 11th, and promises to be a great afternoon of traditional food, amazing auction bargains and opportunities to chat with local and state political leaders and candidates (including Rep. David Cicilline).
The event will take place on the grounds of the Portsmouth Portuguese American Citizens Club on at 35 Power St. off East Main Road.
Open to the public, this popular event begins with the always entertaining auction and all-you-can-eat chowder and clam cakes at 1 p.m. The New England Clam Boil -- fresh clams, chourico, sausage, hot dogs, onion, potato and corn on the cob -- will be served at 3 p.m.

But it's not just about the food -- each year, dozens of local businesses and supporters provide items for raffles and an auction (featuring incomparable auctioneer Dennis Canario!). This year, there are more than 50 great items up for bid. Back again this year is the 50/50 raffle, with tickets $1/each or 6 for $5. Last year’s winner went home with over $500! There will also be plenty of time for meeting and talking with the elected officials and candidates who stop by to connect with the voters. You can be sure plenty of the local and state folks will be there, so we expect a busy day.
The Democratic Town Committee has worked hard to hold ticket prices to the same cost as last year, making it easily one of the best clamboil bargains in the area. Tickets for the day are $30 for adults, (tickets at the door may be limited), and $10 for children under 12 years of age.
