Portsmouth lost a good man this past week with the passing of Harry Johnson. A Korean War veteran, retired Air Force officer and former IBM engineer, Harry was also the former Emergency Manager of Portsmouth and a truely nice guy. I had the privilege of working with Harry on Red Cross and Emergency Management issues back in the 1990's and learned much from his easy-going management style and sharp sense of humor. He loved Portsmouth and exemplified the best in citizen volunteers who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty in support of our town. We need more people like Harry Johnson. His family has my deepest sympathy.
