This is a chance to see what you the citizens of Portsmouth own, and for you to determine what it could be used for. Individuals will be on hand to answer questions.

The Town of Portsmouth bought Elmhurst Academy from the Catholic Church, the academy was built in the late 1950s to early 1960s, part of the academy was a Chapel, when the town bought the school they turned the Chapel into a gym and a cafeteria --- but it largely stayed intact. The Town closed the school in 2010 and I have been serving on the Elmhurst Planning Committee since, it is likely that the Town will likely demolish the school on the recommendation of the Elmhurst Planning Committee, there was two recommendations each demolished the School but both had a subsection to preserve the Chapel as a standalone building – I am spearheading that effort. In the Chapel there are ten stained-glass windows in the Dalle de Verre style. I would like to find out who the artist was so if you have any information, please contact me.
