Portsmouth Abbey Student Receives State's Top Math Score

Jake Kim '14 received the highest score in the state of Rhode Island on the 2012 AMC-10 exam.

Dohyung "Jake" Kim '14, of Daegu, South Korea, was recognized this week with a plaque and certificate from the Committee on the American Mathematics Competitions (CAMC) for having received the highest score in the state of Rhode Island on the 2012 AMC-10 exam.

Jake's distinguished performance on the exam placed him first among the 250 ninth-and tenth-grade students in Rhode Island who participated in the exam.  Moreover, Jake's score put him in the top one percent nationally out of some 73,000 students who took the exam.
