Portsmouth Community Theater's "Carousel" auditions Continue Today

PCT’s auditions for August production of “Carousel” began yesterday in the former Coggeshall School building (now the Aquidneck Island Christian Academy) at 321 East Main Road. Curious as to what these auditions entailed, I visited there briefly yesterday to check it out. Two Portsmouth residents, Kate Davis and Shannon Davis (not related) each sang excerpts from a show tune accompanied by Community Theater member John Keene. Their short performances were being assessed by other PCT members – both had beautiful voices – and when I left, they were preparing to do a “reading” for the casting crew.

PCT is looking for Singers, Dancers, Actors and Musicians of all ages from 7 and up for their performance of Carousel, which is scheduled to take place from 22-26 August. Auditions continue today (Sunday) from 10 AM on, so if you would like to showcase your talent, come prepared to sing a song from the show or another show tune that represents your range.
