Portsmouth Early Families Reunion Planned

Are you part of an old Portsmouth family? We invite you to a special family reunion.

Do your family roots include such old Portsmouth names as Almy, Coggeshall, Anthony, Sisson, Cook, Slocum, Sherman, Clarke, Sanford, Hall, Wilcox .....(many more)?  Is family research your passion or are you just begining to find your roots? The Portsmouth Family Reunion will be an opportunity for your to make connections.

A family reunion is a social event where members of the same family gather, catch up on news and photos, and exchange stories about the past and present.  As part of the 375th celebration, the Portsmouth Historical Society in collaboration with the Portsmouth Free Public Library is hosting a "reunion" for members of Portsmouth's earliest families.

The focus will be on families that were part of the Portsmouth community during colonial times. Many of these families are still very involved in Portsmouth life today.  Notices are being sent out to the Rhode Island Genealogical Society and to Ancestry message boards, so family members are coming from a distance.
