Portsmouth Fire Department Featured on Portsmouth this Week

I had an opportunity to get a tour through the Portsmouth Fire Department on Friday with Fire Chief Mike Cranson taking me through the emergency response process. We started in the dispatch center and then moved into the garage area where the fire and emergency apparatus is stored and maintained. I came away with a better understanding of the fire and medical emergency response process and the different kinds of equipment that is used. I was also impressed by the professionalism and pride exhibited by Chief Cranson as we talked about his organization - we should all be grateful that we have such a dedicated cadre of emergency responders here in Portsmouth.
