Portsmouth Harbormaster Interviewed on 'Portsmouth This Week'

The latest edition of "Portsmouth This Week" was taped on Friday and featured a discussion with Portsmouth Harbormaster, Stephen Burns on his duties and responsibilities.

He was joined by Portsmouth Police Chief Lance Hebert for an interview with PTW host, Jeff Richard.

Detective Burns and Chief Hebert discussed the town mooring situation and the mooring application process, as well as the many functions of the Harbormaster related to security on the waters around Portsmouth.

Chief Hebert explained that RI DEM had legal jurisdiction in all RI waters, but had very limited resources, depending on local authorities and the US Coast Guard for most enforcement functions.

The Harbormaster spends time in his office on administrative duties during the week but tries to be out on the water during summer weekends.
