Portsmouth High Soccer Team Ties Hendricken, Defeats Chariho
Patriots remain in second place, Division 1 East, three points behind Shea, and one point ahead of Barrington.
The Patriots came away with a 1-1Â tie Thursday night at home against Bishop Hendricken. David Gleeson scored from midfield with about 10 seconds left in the first half. Unfortunately, the ball deflected off him, past Ryan Wordell, a few minutes into the second half for Hendrickens only goal.
Saturday saw the offense return with a 3-1 win over Chariho. David Gleeson, Shane Callahan and Will Hathaway scored for Portsmouth. Jason Burghouwt put pressure on the Chariho defense throughout the game, with Austin Grande again having a strong defensive game.
