Portsmouth Little League Defeats Middletown in District Championship

The Portsmouth Little League 10 Year Old Major's All-Star team defeated Middletown 7-2 to win the RI District 2 Championship, Tuesday night. 

Portsmouth was carried by a tremendous pitching performance by John Bliss, holding Middletown to 0 runs through 5 innings. 

Portsmouth recieved key hits from Jacob Pine and Chris Young to secure the 7-2 victory. 

They now go on to play in the State Tournament to be held this weekend at home on Sherman Field.  The game kicks off at Noon on Saturday.
