How to Be A Runner When You Hate to Run
For those who never thought they could run. Not mention to sound like your average infomercial!
A few months ago, I took a police physical agility exam and failed. I took my frustrations to Facebook and I am glad that I did! I HATED to run. I had a friend, Erin Moriarty, comment on my Facebook post to try this running program and it has really changed my life. I no longer hate to run and actually I somewhat enjoy my morning runs now. Every day, I am setting new personal records. Such as this morning I ran 3 miles in 25 min. Eight weeks ago, I was lucky to make it running one minute never mind a mile.
Ever try running and end up running to the next telephone pole then walking a few then try to run again? Well the couch to 5k running program helps you build up stamina and endurance over a nine-week course. It’s very simple. I downloaded the Podcast to my MP3 player and it gives me all the instructions of when to walk and when to run. It is a three-day a week program for nine weeks and it is simply amazing to see how much progress there is week to week.
I am only posting this because I have spent a long time trying to learn to run and hope this can help someone else as much as it has helped me. This is really a ½ hour workout 3 days a week that fits easily into a busy schedule! It is completely customizable I added an extra day of walking so my mom and I walk for a half hour to 45 min on non-running days.

It is helpful to:
1. Have a good pair of running shoes. (They don’t have to be expensive. I got mine for $25 at Famous Footwear.)
2. Find others who are doing the program or even someone who wants to start the program with you.
3. Eat lots of fruit and drink lots of water.
