Joshua Mostert, 17, of Boy Scout Troop 82, sponsored by Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor held on March 22, 2014 at the Green Valley Country Club. Joshua was presented with the very same Eagle Scout rank patch awarded to his father in April 1973. Troop 82's 125th Eagle Scout, Joshua Mostert, is the son of Troop 82 Scout Master Justin and Anne Mostert of Portsmouth.
Joshua’s Eagle Scout Project benefits St. Mary’s Community Garden, where the parish grows produce, feeding those in need and the homeless. Joshua designed, built and installed a raised, handicapped accessible garden bench.
An active scout for the past 8 years, Joshua has held numerous leadership positions in Troop 82 to include Patrol Leader (twice), Librarian, Historian and Instructor. An outstanding Boy Scout, Joshua was elected to the Boy Scout’s Order of the Arrow (brotherhood member).
