Light & Shadow at Portsmouth Arts Guild, through October 14

The Portsmouth Arts Guild’s current exhibition entitled Light & Shadow is open for viewing now through October 14. There is still time to stop by the gallery during our open hours, Friday-Sunday from 1-5pm, to see this exciting exhibition of work by local artists.

Light & Shadow’s opening reception, held on September 14, was a well-attended, festive event celebrating the award winners.  First Prize was awarded to Jamestown photographer Eileen McCarney Muldoon for her photograph entitled, NYC at Dawn.  Second Prize went to Barrington photographer, Leonard Rumpler’s Shadow #2, and Third Prize went to Portsmouth artist Libby Manchester Gilpatric for her oil painting, Kendra’s View. Honorable mentions went to artists Susan Cabral, Anne Ewing, J.R. Lynch, P. Jane Renwick and Cathy Horovitz Wilson.

The Guild’s next exhibition, the Members Juried Show, will open October 19 with our Opening Reception that evening from 6-8pm.  This event is free and open to the public.
