The Newport County Republicans are hosting a free family block party on Saturday, May 28th from 4pm-7pm at Rudd Hall’s home in Newport. Rudd Hall is the new Chair for the Newport Republican Committee and he will be joined by Amy Gallagher, Regional Vice President of Newport County and Chair of the Jamestown Republican Town Committee and Jeff Plumb, Chair of the Portsmouth Republican Town Committee.
The Block Party is part of the Seeing Red Series, a series of free events, followed by statewide fundraisers. Hosted by Republican Committees around Rhode Island, this initiative is meant to introduce voters to the party’s new leadership and give people an opportunity to meet new candidates.
The event promises a chance to mingle with new leaders from the Rhode Island GOP including the new state Chair, Ken McKay. He is joined by others, including Barry Hinckley, who recently announced he will run for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sheldon Whitehouse. Other special guests include John Robitaille (candidate for Governor), state Representatives Dan Reilly and Dan Gordon, as well as Senator Christopher Ottiano.
