Fire Erupts at Portsmouth Business

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Members of the Portsmouth Fire Department responded to a fire at Maritime Solutions on East Main Road on Wednesday night.

The scene is still active at this hour and no official information is available yet.

Reports from the scene indicate that the fire reached two-alarm status.

Maritime Solutions is located at 1250 East Main Road.

The fire is the third fire to occur on Aquidneck Island Wednesday night. Fires broke out in Newport and Middletown earlier in the evening.

Portsmouth firefighters are being assisted by crews from Tiverton, Middletown and Bristol.
