Fire Victim Identified: Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, RI — A body found at the site of last week's fatal fire on Narragansett Boulevard has been identified as Richard Kanauss, 76, the state fire marshal's office said. He was found inside one of the three home destroyed last Wednesday. The fire started around 2:30 a.m., and two of the houses were fully involved when crews arrived. Kanauss was discovered several hours after the fire was put out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
