The
Potter League for Animals will hold its 25th annual Heart & Sole
Walk for the Animals on Sunday, June 1 at Glen Park in Portsmouth.
The
Heart & Sole Walk is a huge event for animal lovers. Since 1989, the Heart & Sole Walk for
Animals has raised over $500,000 to support the care of homeless animals in
Newport County. The Walk has saved the lives
of more than 50,000 animals over the years.
This year’s fundraising goal is $125,000. All monies raised benefit the animals at the
shelter and in the surrounding community.
Walkers
can walk with or without their dogs, walk in honor or memory of their cats or
other favorite pet, and form a team with friends and family members. Employees of businesses can join together on
a team or host a fundraising event in support of the Walk. Walkers are encouraged to collect donations. Those who raise $25 will receive a free lunch
and 25th anniversary Walk T- Shirt.
Great prizes are awarded to top fundraisers.
