Ides of March Fateful for Two Deer Killed by Motorists on Route 24

March 15 was a bad day for collisions with deer. Two animals died after being struck by motorists on Route 24.

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Two deer died after being struck by cars in separate accidents on March 15. Both happened on Route 24, which is a spot where deer are known to cross the road.

The first crash happened at 5:14 a.m. near Turnpike Avenue and Route 24.

The second crash was at 7:56 p.m. on Route 24 near Freeborn Street.
