Douglas Pascua, 70, of Newport, not only makes the "fancy doughnuts" at ; he also performs karaoke regularly at Newport's hot spots, enough so that he's been given the nickname "Cowboy Doug." 

Pascua is also well-known around Clements' for his fancy cowboy hat, which sports many ornaments from a parrot, a pig and a pink rose to a button that reads “This Stud’s For You.”

"The biggest thing that stops people is the rubber chicken," he says.

Where did the hat start: "I started with just a regular straw hat. If I see in a pin in a hobby shop, I’ll add it."

What do you do at Clements' Market: "I make the fancy donuts and do overnight baking."

What do you do when you're not baking: "I perform karaoke four times a week, all in Newport. I perform at O'Brien's Pub and Celtica Pub. They call me 'Cowboy Doug.'"
