Now that school has begun, this may be a good time to enroll your children in piano classes. Â Music serves to enrich the lives of children while teaching them important skills, such as following tasks through to completion, not accepting mediocrity, compassion for other ethnic groups, mathematical skills, discipline, and superior reading skills.
Since teaching piano, I have witnessed changes in the children's behavior.  One student which I had several years ago at a community center, was a problem student.  She hung around with a group of girls who engaged in bullying others.  However, she signed up for piano lessons when she found out I was offering them.  To my surprise, she learned the songs very quickly.
After playing for several weeks, I noticed that her attitude changed and she became enthusiastic about the lessons. Â Soon, she stopped hanging out with the unpopular friends and started spending more time on the piano. Â She practiced on her grandmother's piano on the weekends.
I had occasion to meet her mother and discuss her progress in the class. Â Much to her dismay, she was not aware of her child's interest in the piano. Â Her mother played the piano as a child and the mother took an interest in the child's lessons. Â Each time I saw her, she had a smile on her face instead of a scowl.
In conclusion, piano lessons will help children to be more responsible in performing tasks and disciplined in their behavior.  I am accepting new students and would welcome any who would like to spend time learning how to play.  Here is a website which gives more details on my teaching methods.  Lessons are $25.00 per half hour. Â
