Massachusetts Has NO Ocean Wind Turbine Port -Concerned Citizens Need Answers

Who and What is the New Bedford Wind Energy Center ? How much money are the Massachusetts taxpayers paying for this ?

The Massachusetts general public is aware 113 million dollars was bonded by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center to build the incomplete New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal.

A so called ocean wind turbine port.

The terminal has been renamed several times over the past few years in an attempt to hide the massive boondoggle.

The bond payments are $187,500.00 a month for thirty years at taxpayer expense'

The New Bedford port remains incomplete and no port operator

There are no large walking cranes at the site and a rail remains over a half mile away

The hurricane gate only has a legal opening of 120 feet in which large wind turbine "jack-up" barges do not fit.

The channel outside the hurricane gates for five miles out to the ocean needs dredging of one million cubic yards of PCB
contaminated soil.

The New Bedford ocean wind port was built for small 3.6 megawatt Cape Wind ocean wind turbines. These turbines today are small gear driven antique wind turbines. Ocean wind turbines today are three times the size of Cape Wind.

Quonset Point, Rhode Island has two 1500 foot channels to the ocean and dock space able to handle four World War battleships at a time. Deepwater Wind, Providence, Rhode Island is using Quonset Point as its base of operation.

The Port of Providence, Rhode Island has two massive cranes and a 300 foot barge in their harbor. They just unloaded 15 giant wind turbine blades for Deepwater Wind. The blades are 240 feet long,

Recently the Cape Cod Times ran an opinion piece signed by Paul Vigeant is the managing director of the New Bedford Wind Energy Center. Who is Paul Vigeant ? What is the New Bedford Wind Energy Center ?

What are they selling the New Bedford ocean port is a finacial fiasco !
