Paula Abdul Visits Portsmouth Polo Grounds

Paula Abdul, former judge on American Idol, attended this past Saturday's polo match at Glen Farm, according to the Sakonnet Times. 

Also in attendance were Alex and Ani CEO Giovanni Feroce and designer Carolyn Rafaelian, as well as Debora Del Sesto, vice counsel of Italy. 

Abdul attended the match that featured the debut of team Italy against USA in a 6-chukker match. 

Competing for Italy was a team from one of Italy's 15 polo clubs, a significant footprint for the sport where only about 150 players play year-round, even on beaches and on frozen Alpine lakes in winter. Italy has risen to prominence on the international stage of polo, winning bronze after defeating England in the FIP World Championship last October.

USA won the match with a final score of 11-5, according to the Sakonnet Times.
