Photos: St. Philomena's Spring Fair Bounces Into Town

Thanks to a prayer to Sister Ethna, the rains held off and St. Philomena's School Spring Fair sprung ahead.

Thanks to a prayer for sunny skies and to Sister Ethna, former teacher and principal, and the hard work of dedicated parents, the 44th St. Philomena's School  Spring Fair went off without a hitch this past weekend.

More than 1,000 visitors were expected throughout the event, which took place on the grounds of St. Philomena's School on Cory's Lane.

"This is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the school," said Principal Donna Glavin, "second only to the Holiday Gala and Auction in the late fall.

"These parents and this community have worked so hard to organize this event and it has been a terrific day."

Principal Glavin and crew hope to raise more than $20,000, which will be used primarily for the scholarship fund and operational budget, offsetting the costs of tuition.
