Portsmouth Head-On Collision Sends Two Patients to Hospitals Friday Afternoon

Rescue workers removed one person from a car. That patient went to Rhode Island Hospital with "apparently" life-threatening injuries.

PORTSMOUTH, RI —A head-on collision on Bristol Ferry Road on Friday afternoon sent two people to the hospital. One patient had to be extricated with the Jaws of Life apparatus and went to Rhode Island Hospital with "what appeared to be life threatening injuries," the Portsmouth Fire Department said.

A second patient was taken to Newport Hospital. The Fire Department posted pictures of the cars on its Facebook page and gave an account of the incident.
