Portsmouth House Fire Displaces At Least 3 People
Sunny Acres Mobile Home Park, where the home resided, did not have fire hydrants, creating challenges for Portsmouth firefighters.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — A house fire in Portsmouth on Saturday caused significant damage and displaced at least three people, according to town fire officials.
Around 2:15 p.m., Portsmouth fire officials received several 911 calls reporting a shed fire in the Sunny Acres Mobile Home Park. When firefighters arrived, they discovered the flames from the shed had spread to the side of the home and into the attic, fire officials said.
Fire officials issued a second alarm, sending mutual aid from fire departments in Tiverton and Newport, as well as the U.S. Navy.

Fire officials said the mobile home park did not have fire hydrants, so crews had to lay an extended hose over 1,000 feet from Bristol Ferry Road.
No injuries were reported, according to fire officials.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
