The Newport County Grand Jury today reported out an indictment charging John Tingstad, 26, of Portsmouth, with two counts of first degree child molestation in connection with an April incident in which he was caught with a 13-year-old girl at a local playground.
Portsmouth Police arrested Tingstad on March 29 after they found him in his car with the girl at the Common Fence Point playground at around 11:10 p.m.
Police said an investigation concluded that Tingstad had intercourse with the girl, who was from Fall River, Mass.
