June 16

Nicholas Lovell, 31, of Portsmouth, was charged with Driving under the Influence, first offense, and Refusal to submit to a chemical test at 1:45 a.m. after a car stop near the Route 24 weigh station.

Kevin Earl Silva, 32, of North Kingstown, was stopped at Davey Lane at 11:56 p.m. He was charged with Driving under the Influence, first offense, and Refusal to submit to a chemical test.

June 18

Rafael Danilo Mejia, 24, of Fall River, Mass., was stopped at 12:20 p.m. West Main Road near King's Grant. He was charged with Driving under the Influence, first offense.

June 20

Timothy John Svendsen, 29, of Fall River, Mass., was stopped at 9:05 a.m. on West Main Road near Turkey Hill. He was charged with Driving under the Influence, first offense.

June 21

Bethany Catherine Cottrell, 38, of Portsmouth, was arrested at 8:49 a.m. and charged with Domestic Simple Assault or Battery.

Jose Manuel Soares, 20, of Pawtucket, was stopped at 1:10 p.m. on West Main Road near Raytheon. Police suspected the car was speeding. He was taken into custody on a bench warrant from Sixth District Court.

June 23

John Paul Binette, 48, of Portsmouth, was stopped at 8:31 p.m. near Route 24 and Boyd's Lane. He was charged with Driving under the Influence, second offense.

June 24

Timothy Logan Haslam, 58, of Portsmouth, was arrested at his home at 5:14 p.m. He was being taken into custody on a bench warrant, but he refused to come with officers. After a scuffle, he was also charged with Resisting Arrest. Haslam complained about pain in his wrists and back. Police took him to Newport Hospital to be evaluated and filled out a Use of Force report.

William Ralph Dalessio, 44, of Barrington, was stopped on East Main Road in front of the Portsmouth Police station at 10:49 p.m., due to erratic driving. He was charged with Driving under the Influence, first offense, and Refusal to submit to a chemical test. Dalessio was taken to Newport Hospital after he complained about chest pains, arraigned and released on $1,000 personal recognizance.

June 25

Derek Teixeira, 32, of Fall River, Mass., was stopped at 2:01 p.m. on West Main Road near Turkey Hill for not wearing a seat belt. He was taken into custody on a bench warrant from Sixth District Court.

Nader Kallini, 52, of Salem, N.H., was stopped on suspicion of speeding at 5:09 p.m. on East Main Road and Immokolee Drive. He was taken into custody on a warrant from Second District Court.

Michael Edward Bettencourt, 45, of Portsmouth, was charged at 6:50 p.m. with Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Vandalism (malicious injury to property). His wife said she took his car keys to prevent him from driving drunk, and in anger, he threw around objects in the kitchen and living room and destroyed them. He was also given a summons for marijuana possession.

Aline Boulais, 32, of Rehoboth, Mass., was stopped at 7:18 p.m. near East Main Road and Stub Toe Lane. She was taken into custody on two bench warrants from Sixth District Court. She was also charged with Driving under the Influence, first offense, and Refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police also cited her for Driving after her license expired.

Matthew John Vazquez, 22, of Milton, Mass., was stopped at 10:49 p.m. on West Main Road near Portsmouth Abbey. He was charged with Driving under the Influence, first offense.
