Portsmouth State Rep. Terri Cortvriend Launches Re-Election Bid
"I have worked hard to address the diverse needs and concerns of our community," Rep. Terri Cortvriend says in her re-election announcement.
PORTSMOUTH, RI — State Rep. Terri Cortvriend (D-Portsmouth) will seek re-election for another term representing Rhode Island House District 72.
"I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for re-election to the Rhode Island General Assembly,
and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue serving as your state representative," Cortvriend said in a news release. "Throughout my tenure, working with my colleagues in the House as well as town leadership in both Middletown and Portsmouth — I have worked hard to address the diverse needs and concerns of our community."
In her campaign announcement, Cortvriend highlighted her accomplishments as a state representative. Specifically, she mentioned introducing a bill to reform the Coastal Resources Management Council. She also highlighted leading a 2021 legislative commission studying shoreline access.

Cortvriend became a state representative in 2018, defeating incumbent Republican state Rep. Ken Mendonca. If Cortvriend wins reelection this year, it will be her fourth term.
