Portsmouth UK Visitors Bring Message from Former Lord Mayor

Nigel and Sharyn Tailyour left Portsmouth, England earlier this year in April on a round the world trip for the benefit of the “Samaritans” organization in Portsmouth UK to raise awareness and funds for their Night Owl “Hotline” project for folks in distress there. After they traveled by motorcycle (and train) across Russia and Asia, they are now traveling cross-country by motorcycle in the USA starting from San Francisco and along the way have visited Portsmouth, OH and Portsmouth, VA. After their visit herein RI they will travel to Portsmouth, NH for a final stop before returning to Portsmouth, England later this year. At the Special Town Council meeting on Saturday at 10:30 AM they will deliver a letter of greeting from former Lord Mayor Lynne Stagg of Portsmouth, England and recount some of the highlights of their journey. Then they will receive a proclamation of greeting from our TC president Jim Seveney along with a letter to deliver to Councillor Stagg upon their return. The TC meeting is open to the public. After the TC meeting they will be taken on a tour of Portsmouth historical locations by volunteers from the Portsmouth 375th legacy group. .
