Portsmouth's Ryan Westmoreland To Take Live Batting Practice

The Red Sox prospect will take live batting practice today, a major step in his recovery, according to Projo.com.

Projo.com reports that Portsmouth native Ryan Westmoreland will take live batting practice today.

This is the first time Westmoreland, a Red Sox prospect, has practiced batting live since his brain surgery on March 16, 2010, according to the Projo.com article. Westmoreland has previously been hitting off a machine in Florida before today's practice, which is being called a "major step" in his recovery.
