Providence Woman Caught Carrying Cocaine, Narcotics: Police Allege

Police put the seized drugs' street value at $8,600.

From Portsmouth Police: On October 11, 2017 through a joint investigation between the Portsmouth and Newport Police Departments a Josmaira Martinez was arrested for possession with intent to deliver cocaine and fentanyl/heroin. At approximately 2 pm, Martinez was stopped in the area of Park Ave at Cottage Ave. Upon speaking with Martinez and searching of the vehicle revealed a hidden electronic compartment.

A search of the hidden compartment revealed 58 grams of cocaine and 28 grams of fentanyl/heroin that were individually packaged along with $1,060.00 in cash. The street value total of the illicit narcotics is estimated to be $8,600.00. Martinez is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in 2nd District Court this morning.
