Ride on Beach Leads to Warrant Arrest
Police responded to a report about an erratic driver at McCorrie's Beach and picked up the motorist on a bench warrant.

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Police responded to McCorrie's Beach Monday morning to investigate a complaint about a white Camry driving erratically on the beach shortly after 10 a.m.
En route, the officer spotted the vehicle on the road on the way back from the beach and stopped the driver.
Nicholas Michael Botelho, 19, of Portsmouth, could not produce his driver's license but did give the officer his name and address.

After checking his information, police said Botelho was wanted in Middletown for simple assault, a misdemeanor.
He was taken into custody around 11 a.m. Monday on the active bench warrant, police said.
