Senator Ottiano to hold Ebola preparedness presentation

Senator Christopher S. Ottiano, (R-Dist 11, Bristol, Portsmouth, Tiverton), will give a presentation regarding Rhode Island’s Ebola preparedness at 7 p.m., Thursday, October 30, at The Pennfield School in Portsmouth.
Senator Ottiano, who is a licensed and practicing physician, will present information on Rhode Island’s Ebola readiness provided by the Department of Health.
“I’d like to thank the governor’s office, the Senate President’s office and the Department of Health for keeping the legislators so well informed on the state’s preparedness for any potential Ebola diagnosis,” Ottiano said. “While we hope that it is unlikely that Ebola becomes a serious issue in our area, our due diligence requires us to make sure the public has up-to-date facts about the disease and how it will be handled.”

Ottiano will present a slideshow prepared by the Department of Health with current medical facts regarding Ebola and its transmission.
The Pennfield School is located at 110 Sandy Point Avenue in Portsmouth. The event will be held in the school’s gym and is open to the public.
