Thousands to Participate in Newport Pell Bridge Run; Still Time to Register
The race will give runners the rare opportunity to run over the Newport Pell Bridge.
This Sunday, Nov. 13, runners will have the rare opportunity to run over the Newport Pell Bridge by participating in the 2011 .
Thousands of runners are coming from near and far to participate in Sunday’s race that will allow runners to experience the scenic view while crossing over Newport Pell Bridge.
The 4-mile run will begin at 6:30 a.m. in Jamestown, next to the RI Turnpike and Bridge Authority headquarters. Runners will then head over the Newport Pell Bridge and into downtown Newport to the finish line at the Citizens Bank Washington Square Branch.

The race is being produced by Eident Sports Marketing in partnership with Citizens Bank and the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority.
“The Newport Pell Bridge is a landmark in Rhode Island,” said Brewer Rowe, race director and executive vice president, Eident Sports Marketing. “The views are breathtaking. We’re looking forward to a great event. This is going to be a perfect venue that will allow runners to experience these spectacular views on foot while raising money for some great causes.”

The Citizens Bank Newport Pell Bridge Run benefits the local charities Operation Stand Down RI, Meeting Street School, March of Dimes, The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center and Special Olympics Rhode Island.
There is still time to register for the Citizens Bank Newport Pell Bridge Run.
On-site registration will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at 4 p.m. at the Marriott in downtown Newport. Race day registration will be held on Sunday at the Newport Visitor’s Center, 5-6 a.m.
