Two Accidents In Portsmouth Saturday Morning
Rescue workers responded to two accidents within half an hour on Saturday morning.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Rescue workers responded to two car accidents on Saturday morning. First, a head-on collision injured two drivers around 10:30 a.m. on Anthony Road near Common Fence Point. One driver went to Rhode Island Hospital, and the other was taken to Newport Hospital, Lt. Dominic Lautieri said.
Then at 11 a.m., a minor accident on West Main Road sent one person to Newport Hospital as a precaution. That crash happened across from Melville School.
Bristol, Middletown and Tiverton provided mutual aid.
