Two Women Rescued from Cold Bay Waters
Crews were hampered by fog but managed to rescue an 18-year-old after she floated for more than an hour. The other was aided by kayakers.

Two 18-year-old women are recovering after being rescued from the cold waters of Narragansett Bay Sunday.
One woman was rescued near Latham Park in Bullock Cove by two boys who set off in kayaks to try and find the two women, according to reports; crews from Barrington and Portsmouth were able to rescue the other after she floated for more than an hour in the bay and ended up near Conimicut Lighthouse off the Warwick coast after responders turned off their engine and heard her screams in the fog.
Barrington police said the women, who have not been identified, reportedly went into the water off Nyatt Point and police responded to the area at around 8 p.m. after reports that the two had not returned after more than an hour.

The women apparently had thought they could swim to Conimicut Lighthouse but underestimated how far it really was. One turned back — the other kept going.
Police got a 911 phone call from a Barrington resident at about 9 p.m. after someone saw what looked like someone floating in the water.

The inter-agency Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force jumped into action and a search began.
The woman managed to stay afloat until crews were able to locate her at around 9:30 p.m. near Conimicut Point in Warwick.
The Providence Journal reported that searchers had minimal visibility and a Dense Fog Advisory had been issued by the National Weather Service.
She was pulled from the water a short time later and transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment for mild hypothermia.
