PHOTOS: Portsmouth Patriots Win Thanksgiving Day Game 34-12

Portsmouth High School Patriots played against Middletown on Thursday, Nov. 24.

The Patriots football team has another win to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. 

Under beautiful blue skies and sunshine on a cool November day, the Patriots defeated the Middletown High School Islanders 34-12.

This was the 48th year of Portsmouth playing against Middletown.

Among the important plays of the day was a last-minute touchdown only one minute before the close of the first half. 

As part of a sportsmanship tradition, Portsmouth presented Nick Gomes of Middletown High School with a trophy. Middletown awarded Portsmouth's Danny Thorpe with a trophy.

Also honored were players Francis Wiley of Middletown High School and Portsmouth High's Austin Szczepaniak.
