Daniel Carnevale, a first-grader at Hathaway Elementary School, recently completed a "Journey Through Books" literary challenge.
This week, we spotlight Hathaway Elementary School first-grader Daniel Carnevale as Portsmouth Patch's Whiz Kid of the Week.

School: Grade 1,
Accomplishment: Daniel recently completed a literary challenge at the school called "Journey Through Books." Students are asked to read at least 100 pages in each literary genre chosen by the school. The genres range from "natural science" to "sports."
Key to Awesomeness: Daniel, a member of the Portsmouth Pirates soccer team, received the Sportsmanship Award earlier this year. Daniel also plays baseball as a member of the Little League team.
