Whiz Kid: Jimmy Berberick Embodies 'True Basketball Spirit'

Jimmy Berberick, 17, was a supporting team member of the Portsmouth High School Unified Basketball Team, which recently finished third in the state.

This week, we spotlight high school junior Jimmy Berberick as Portsmouth Patch's Whiz Kid of the Week.

Jimmy was a participant and key member of the Portsmouth High School Unified Basketball Team, which recently finished third in the state finals. The Unified Basketball Team offers intellectually-disabled adults and high school athletes the chance to play on the same team.

"He (Jimmy) captures the true spirit of what Unified Basketball is all about," said Portsmouth High School Principal Robert E. Littlefield. "He was a great asset to the team."

Key to Awesomeness: Jimmy is also an active Eagle Scout, honor roll student and member of the Portsmouth High School varsity football team. He also manages the high school's varsity basketball team.
