Whiz Kids: Aquidneck Island Robotics 4-H Club Places Third at Regional Robotics Competition
The Aquidneck Island Robotics 4-H Club, with members from Portsmouth, recently won at at the BAE Systems Granite State Regional.
This week, we spotlight the Aquidneck Island Robotics 4-H Club, whose members took third place at a regional robotics competition held recently in Manchester, NH.Â
Group: Aquidneck Island Robotics 4-H Club
Accomplisment: Team members competed as part of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team 78, AIR Strike, which is comprised of 30 high school students from throughout Rhode Island. The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team 78, AIR Strike, placed third amongst 52 teams and won the Entrepreneurship Award at the BAE Systems Granite State Regional.
Key to Awesomeness: Teams are given a new game to play in early January and only six weeks to build a 5-foot-tall, 150 pound robot to complete the game objectives. On April 7-9, the team will compete again in the Boston Regional at Boston University in hopes of qualifying for the World Championship in St. Louis, MO.
