Officials To Award $3,157 To Park Avenue Business

The owner of 15 Point Road Restaurant will receive a check today for his improvements to his Portsmouth business.

The owner of will receive a $3,157 check today as part of a matching grant program for small businesses. 

Town Council President Joe Robicheau and Town Administrator John Klimm will present a check to Sean Smith, owner of 15 Point Road, at 9 a.m. today at the restaurant. The ceremony is open to the public.

For several years, the town has provided small matching grants as part of the Commercial Rehabilitation Program or the Park Avenue Facade Program. 

All businesses on Park Avenue, located on commercial-zoned property, are eligible for a one-time grant.

The town annually requests Community Development Block Grants to fund the program. The funds are administered through Church Community Housing.

The purpose is to improve the buildings, street-scape, facades of commercial businesses on Park Avenue. The maximum grant is $5,000 which must be matched by the business. 

Sean Smith, owner and operator of 15 Point Road, used the funds to install exterior landscaping lights and new decorative building signs.
