New Jersey Man Wanted On Gun Charge Pinched In Providence: Police

PROVIDENCE, RI — A New Jersey man wanted on a gun charge was apprehended in Providence, police said.

Andry Gonzalez-Vina, 36, was pulled over and arrested on Delaine Street shortly before 3 a.m. Monday, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Gonzalez-Vina, a resident of Passaic, was wanted in New Jersey on charges of unlawful possession of a handgun without a permit, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault, the release said.

Gonzalez-Vina was processed at state police headquarters, arraigned by a justice of the peace and taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions — Men's Intake Center, according to the release.
